NationStates Celebrates Pride Month

NEWS: June has seen a number of nations and regions mark Pride Month.  Pride month is observed around the world and celebrates LGBT+ people, communities and culture.  It highlights the contributions of the LGBT+ community, the advances made in LGBT+ rights and acceptance and draws attention to continued discrimination experienced by LGBT+ people and allies.

Across NationStates, several regions are marking Pride Month.  Many regions including The North Pacific, Europe, The Communist Bloc and Europeia have updated their regional flags to incorporate rainbow colours, while others have released statements, hosted events, or created dedicated spaces to engage with Pride Month.

2025 Pride Month Activities, Initiatives & Statement

• New United Kingdom released a formal Pride Month Declaration for NUK 2025, reaffirming its support for LGBT+ inclusion within the region and highlighting its broader commitments to equality.

• The Region That Has No Big Banks is hosting a Pride Games Night, inviting members to participate in casual events as a way to foster a welcoming and celebratory space.

• On the Forums, a new edition of R/D For Pride has been launched — an initiative inviting raiders and defenders alike to signal their support through gameplay actions or public statements.

• The long-running The LGBT+ Thread: Rainbow Connections on the NS forums has also seen renewed engagement, serving as a way for players to discuss LGBT+ experiences within the game.

While there is no official recognition of Pride Month by NationStates itself, the level of activity among regions suggests that for many, the month presents an opportunity to affirm community values of inclusion, visibility, and support.
