NEWS:  A new interregional alliance, the Union of Enduring Conservative Republics (UECR) - established on 11th April 2025 - brings together a coalition of conservative regions on NationStates.  The UECR’s stated mission is to promote ideological unity and cooperation among right-leaning regions and to offer mutual support in what it describes as a growing threat from ‘radical leftist’ ideologies and region destabilisation efforts.  Its founders state that the alliance fills a needed gap for conservative cooperation, whilst critics express concern about its possible ties to the far-right.

The UECR, led by a Triumverate of its co-founders - Of the Golden Harp, Polish West Slavia & The Terra Libertatisaims to provide mutual support to right-leaning regions and to counter what its members describe as escalating efforts to undermine conservatism through ideological hostility and destabilisation tacts.  Inspiration for the UECR came from the now-defunct Stavian Union, which sought to create solidarity among conservative players.  Of the Golden Harp noted that rising threats — particularly raids targeting conservative regions — underscored the need for a stronger, more organised alliance.

In a statement to The NationStates TimesOf the Golden Harp said:

‘I attempted to keep Stavia alive by myself, but I failed.  I thus decided that a new alliance with a leader able to defend it needed to be created… Our goals are to protect Conservatism, and to connect Conservatives so they don’t become isolated.’

According to its charter, which as of writing is still a work in progress, the UECR prioritises regional sovereignty, cultural preservation, mutual defence and ideological alignment.  The UECR states that it rejects raiding and is committed to resisting both foreign invasions and internal subversion, calling for cooperation among likeminded regions.  Current regions include: The Celtic Lands ofEurope and Colonies, Sphere of Conservative Republics, The Angularis, Fullworthia, The Allied Nations, Alesia, Palatinus, ColeWorld, The Reactionary Front, Raxulan Empire, Libertarian Federation & SerovskiMir 2022.

The UECR identifies ‘the radical left’ – particularly communism and ‘radical socialism’ as its ideological opponents.  It has named several regions, that it believes advances these ideologies, as enemies including: TransRepublican Army, The Raiders Commune, Old Democracy, Tinga & Sparkalia.

The UECR's official materials disavow raiding and present a conservative ideological framework, whilst critics argue that the alliance may unintentionally provide cover for more extreme elements.  Some UECR-affiliated regions are present on the Problematic Regions List — an unofficial, community-maintained list of regions believed to be associated with extremist ideologies — highlighting potential ties of some regions to far-right and fascist movements.

Opponents have responded critically to the UECR’s formation.  In a statement to The NationStates Times, Nova Tortlian of The Raiders Commune said:  “…Their charter is fundamentally exclusionary and ideologically rigid... vague terms like ‘ideologically hostile’ and ‘anti-conservative’ leave too much room for subjective enforcement and potential abuse.”

Another critic, Dengist China of the region Tinga, commented:

“I believe the UECR is just another thing that makes Conservatism and Fascism more closely tied. It’s a far-right union which is only going to do harm.”

As of publishing, the alliance’s influence in the World Assembly is limited however its influence is likely to expand as its leadership seeks additional member regions and to grow its diplomatic and strategic presence on NationStates.

Note: Just after publishing one of the member regions, The Angularis, has been raided making ambiguous their status as a member of the UECR.

  1. How did I know that "Dengist China" would be the one to scream "fascist".
